No Evaluation option: FAQ

Why does the GASC offer this option?

Since we started the Great American Song Contest in 1999, the number of participating songwriters has grown steadily each year — because we offer a distinctly rewarding event that has an excellent reputation.

However, the increasing popularity of our event also means more work for our small staff. The time and effort needed to coordinate the judging process and mail out the written evaluations is considerable.

With the No-Evaluation option, people who don't care so much about receiving evaluations can choose to pay lower entry fees. People who still want written evaluations can continue to receive them.

If I choose the No Evaluation option, do I have the same chance of winning prizes and getting heard?

Absolutely! All songs will still be reviewed in the same way by the same judges. You have the same chances to win. The only difference is that our judges won't need to write out and process evaluation forms.
